The Paley Lab is interested in the key steps in the development of Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS) and Acute Anterior Uveitis (AAU).

  • What are the risk factors for the generation (or amplification) of pathogenic T cells in AS and AAU?
  • What factors might protect healthy individuals from developing disease if they generate pathogenic T cells?
  • What are the specific functions of pathogenic CD8 T cells that elicit disease?

We are interested in building a team at all career stages that will work together to teach us about the biology of human autoimmunity.

Students

Graduate students at the Washington University School of Medicine should contact Dr. Paley about potential rotation opportunities. We encourage students with an interest in computational or experimental approaches to human immunology.

Postdoctoral fellows

Individuals interested in postdoctoral work may contact Dr. Paley about potential projects in the lab.

Staff

We have opportunities for a research technician or a clinical research coordinator to join my lab. Applicants interested in a research technician position between undergraduate and graduate studies should expect a 25-month commitment.
